Dream: Plastic Diamonds

Several years ago I had a dream. I was just reminded of it couple days ago in a conversation with my sister. I will share the dream first and then a background followed by the interpretation.

I dreamt that my husband and I owned a large house with a beautiful garden and we hired a gardener to keep our garden. The gardener was T. Harv Eker, author of “Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind“. He would come work for us daily, trimming bushes and the like. In the dream our gardener (Harv) was flirting with me, a married woman. Any time I went outside, he’d try to talk me into being with him despite me being married. So I decided to go outside the fence to go tell my husband that the gardener was really pursuing me and as I went to him, there on the ground I found hundreds of diamonds! Different sizes and all so brilliantly shiny as the sun hit them from all angles. I was so excited and wanted to quickly bend over to start collecting all these diamonds that seem to have fallen from the sky! I couldn’t believe my eyes! As I bent down, to my disappointment, I realized they were all plastic diamonds! Large toy, fake, plastic diamonds! Their sight in the dream reminded me of these large diamonds on toy jewelry little girls wear when they play dress up. But even so I wanted to believe they were real and tried picking up as many as I could, knowing full well they were just plastic and feeling so disappointed. Then I woke up.

Background: As a home business owner, most of us get exposed to these teachings on mental power and self-help and how you have the power in you, not only to create wealth, but to heal yourself, to live a happy life, to have great relationships and everything you could possibly want in your life. All possessions and high success can be reached simply by day dreaming them into reality, meditating on them all day while you work, repeating positive affirmations everyday night and day and it all sounds so darn attractive, with some spiritual language included that even well-meaning Believers don’t see the trap. They don’t realize this is all new age teaching about being one with the universe and completely void of God. Make no mistake, spiritual sounding does not mean biblical truth. Another such book is “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne besides Harv’s best seller and there are many others. Warning to Believers in Christ: Think of it… if truly I could have it all by using mental power, by using positive affirmations day in, day out, why would I need God at all? In that case, forget God! I can be my own god and design my own life as I wish it to be. Be careful dear ones… The Bible says that God gives us the ability to produce wealth. Yes, this too comes from God. Don’t confuse the term “universe” with God! I know the content of those teachings that even Believers cling to. I too read the books, watched the movie and attended the seminar. I also repeated positive affirmations and visualized my desired life until the Lord exposed these lies. And because I submitted those teachings soon to the Lord and ask Him to show me His truth, He spoke to me about it and I journaled all He taught me and then gave me this dream later. We must all weigh what we hear and not just run to mix Biblical truth with New Age beliefs.

Interpretation: In my dream, the gardener, in this case Harv, represents these teachings about mental power to create success and wealth and more in your life. Could be that the garden represented my life even. I had let this teaching into my life and it started to seduce me. I knew deep down though something wasn’t right about him (these teachings) pursuing me. I went to my husband in the dream whom I believe represented the Lord as My covering (just as my husband is my covering and the Lord also being the Lover of my soul). Me telling my husband about this gardener pursuing a relationship with me represented me submitting these teachings to the Lord. Also I think the reason my husband was outside the fence is that when false teachings overtake your life, you are really pushing God’s truth out. You can’t have both truth and lies mixed. And you can figure out what He showed me… all these teachings perceived as the way to true riches, it is all PLASTIC. In other words, fake! You know what they say… not all that shine is gold! Those who understand true riches know what I mean. So, you know I am not saying wealth is bad or fake. Take this to the Lord and ask Him for His heart, best way to receive Truth.

Also feel free to comment if you’ve been seduced by these false teachings as a Believer and what you learned.

  1. I really enjoy this blog. Continue to keep working.

    1. What a nice compliment, my friend. So happy you do, feel free to share.

  2. Lisette, here’s a dream I had 3 years ago that I thunk is very similar to yours.

    A Dream about a Wallet (05/29/2010)

    > I had a dream and in this dream a young woman, sort of seductive in an evil sense, not sexually, however, had come to me and told me that someone had stolen my wallet. I told her that it was she who had stolen my wallet, and, as I went to get it back from her, she tried holding it up beyond my reach so that I would be unable to get it. Instead of giving me my wallet back, she offered me a black case of CD’s . I told her that I did not want the CD case but instead wanted my wallet back. It was then that I pinned her to the ground and took back my wallet. She was cursing me all the while I had her pinned to the ground and I continued to hold her there until the police came to take her away. The reason that in my dream this woman was trying to give me the CD’s in lieu of returning my wallet was because she was trying to convince me that they had the equality of what was contained in my wallet which they do not. My identity, credibility and life itself are hid with Christ. Teachings cannot replace going to the source of living water which is the Lord. To elevate teachings to the status of being equal to the Word is equivalent to digging a cistern for yourself. I believe that your doctrine must be constantly evolving because the Lord is constantly showing us something new about His character. And, the only way we are able to learn is to sit at the feet of Jesus for ourselves. Strongholds are thoughts we think, things we tell ourselves, and what others tell us that we tend to believe even though we know they are contrary to the Word of God, and teachings we listen to and elevate to the Word of the Lord.. A stronghold is formed one brick at a time and is formed when these things go unchallenged by the Word of God and we just accept as truth that which we know to be contrary to the Word.

Paul said regarding false teachings ,”But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough”.
    (2Co 11:3-4 NIV)

    > What is contained in a wallet?
    > A driver’s license speaks to your identity. When Jesus was being tested in the wilderness, one of the first things that Satan tested Him on was His identity, “If you are the Son of God….”
    > Credit cards speak to your reputation and credibility in other words, you hold fast to the Word of God and in His Word do you trust and base your life.
    > The cd case containing the cd’s represented false teaching that this woman was trying to give me instead of my wallet. She did not want me to have my wallet(the Word of God) because of what it represented and the power that comes from knowing the truth about who I am in Christ.
    > It is my belief that one of the biggest hindrances today is that people have made the teachings of men equal to the Word of God in their lives. As a result, people are dependent on milk were they entrust others to digest the word for them rather than learning how to eat the meat of the Word for themselves. One of the biggest reasons I have heard for people either leaving or joining a church is that they are/are not being fed and so we have many who are infants.
    > By now you should be teachers. Instead, you still need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word. You need milk, not solid food. All those who live on milk lack the experience to talk about what is right. They are still babies. However, solid food is for mature people, whose minds are trained by practice to know the difference between good and evil.

    1. Wow! Real good. And I like the references you added. Couldn’t do better myself!

      1. Here’s another dream that I had about deception

      2. This last dream I had in February of this year.

        Thy Word Is Truth

I had a dream 02/25/2013. In the dream the verse from Psalms,

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet on a rock, and gave sureness to my steps.
(Psa 40:2) When I looked up this verse, I saw the one below.
“……… Save me, O God, For the waters have threatened my life. I have sunk in deep mire, and there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and a flood overflows me”.
        (Psa 69:1-2)

In this dream I saw miry clay as is described above verse in Psalms as a sea. Just as one cannot walk upon water without sinking, neither could one walk upon miry clay. The miry clay in my dream was/is deception and to try to walk on it is both foolish and dangerous and ultimately deadly.

I then saw a boat, somewhat like Noah’s but this boat contained me and my family, not by any means am I saying here that my family and I are exclusive, just that in this dream, the boat held me and my family and what the boat represented was truth, hence the title of the post from John, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
        (Joh 17:17)

Just as the waters that the Lord sent in Noah’s day covered the earth and destroyed all that drew breath, Genesis 7, so that same water gave the ark buoyancy so that the ship rode on the very thing that the Lord used to destroy the earth; so it is today where the Lord sends those who do not believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, strong delusion. But the ark of God’s truth, will float on the delusion that the Lord is sending into the world and it will protect and preserve those who take refuge in it.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.
        (2Th 2:8-12)

The Lord commanded Noah to build an ark in his day to preserve him and his family and the living creatures that dwelt upon the earth. The ark of which I saw in my dream is not built with human hands but with the Word of the Lord and in these last days, this will save those that take refuge in it.

  3. Hi Lisette, yes I have fallen foul of these teachings for a period of time of various teachers when I was disallusioned about the church and all their stuff. I thank God in real time I wasn’t in them long but long enough as the LORD rescued me and spoke to me about the trap of them. It’s funny really but when ever I did read any of the new agey kind of books I never finished them or some of them I never got past the first page. I always ran back to the bible. I read the Secret and so did not daughter it really is all fluff and nonsense but many live by it also a guy called Neale Donald Walsh wrote books on ‘Conversations with God’. They seem so incredible and real but it was the fact that he didn’t believe in hell and other things that made me put them in the bin. The biggest factor for me and this applies to lots of Christian leaders is the making of money and vast amounts of money on the back of these ministries. Many Christian ministries are just like the New Age ministries there is no difference either in teaching or the way in which they make their money or elevate themselves as leaders. The bottom line is none of them lead humble lives, hidden or quiet it is all out in the open for man to see their deeds. But yes for a time a very small time I thought they were the truth. not now though in any way Jesus has me firmly and I trust totally in His Word. ‘His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path’. I know I am safe when I follow Jesus and no one else. jacqui xx God Bless 🙂
